What purpose does your assessment tool serve? Pearson PASeries has been built from the ground up to provide scientifically based, valid and reliable formative assessments. PASeries Reading and PASeries Mathematics for grades 3-8 measure progress throughout the school year and forecast growth toward state performance standards.

What professional development (for students or assessors) is required to use the tool? Teleconference/Web Ex session for test administrators provided (approximate duration 2-3 hours). On site training may also be arranged.
To use the tool effectively, what else should the school have in place?
If you haven't already addressed it, how does your tool help students or teachers demonstrate that they are meeting standards? PASeries measures progress throughout the school year and forecasts growth toward state-specific proficiency goals. PASeries uses scientific measurement scales, including Lexile measures for reading and provides immediately available student, class, district, state and disaggregated actionable reports.
What are your next steps in developing or implementing this tool? Pearson is developing a PASeries Writing product that will be available Fall 2005.
