Ideas Consulting is pleased to announce workshops to help New Hampshire schools implement digital portfolios.
Since last fall, over 300 educators throughout the state have participated in portfolio workshops. This summer, schools will have another opportunity to expand their knowledge, and learn how to use portfolios to meet the ICT standards -- and to help address the state competencies.
Funding opportunities are available for eligible schools -

All sessions are full-day (8:00 - 2:30) and include morning and lunch time refreshments
Workshop enrollments are limited

Portfolio 101: Implementation Strategies for Digital Portfolios
Offered: July 7-9, 2008
Facilitation: Dr. David Niguidula and staff from Ideas Consulting, Inc.
This popular three-day session will provide you with hands-on experience with digital portfolios. You will learn how portfolios can be integrated with what is already happening in your own setting (classroom, school, district) and with different initiatives (curriculum mapping, accreditation, literacy, and so on).
This session will provide you with the tools to help you plan and implement portfolios. You will learn how to meet ICT standards across the curriculum and begin to build a proficiency-based culture. You will learn how to set expectations, design "portfolio-worthy" assignments, and assess the work against your school's expectations. You will see a number of examples of how schools are making it happen and you will get a chance to build your own sample portfolio. You will be taken through a step by step process to implement digital portfolios as a teacher, technology integrator / coordinator, curriculum director and/or administrator.
This will be an opportunity for schools to share and plan how they will implement digital portfolios for the upcoming school year.
Creating School-wide Rubrics
Offered: July 10, 2008
Facilitation: Dr. David Niguidula and staff from Ideas Consulting, Inc.
Rubrics are a critical part of an assessment system; when used well, they can provide students and teachers with a consistent definition of what it means to "meet standard." Teams will develop a common language for deciding what work meets ICT literacy and content standards. There will be separate conversations for elementary and middle/high school teams. High school teams, in particular, will find this workshop useful to address the state competencies.
We encourage schools to send at least a group of 3 or more participants from the same school/district, preferably including an administrator/curriculum director, a teacher, and a technology specialist / integrator.
You may pre-register online at www.richerpicture.com/workshops or by downloading the registration form.
A registration receipt will be emailed to you. You may print your registration receipt to mail with your check or approved purchase order form.
