Digital Portfolio Summer Institute, 2008 Ideas Consulting is pleased to announce workshops to help schools implement digital portfolios. Thousands of educators across the US and abroad have participated in portfolio workshops. This summer, schools will have another opportunity to expand their knowledge, and learn how to use portfolios to meet the ICT standards -- and to help address the state competencies. Funding opportunities are available for eligible New Hampshire schools - see registration details below.Time and Place Workshop Descriptions Portfolio 101: Implementation Strategies for Digital Portfolios
Facilitation: Dr. David Niguidula and staff from Ideas Consulting, Inc. This popular three-day session will provide you with hands-on experience with digital portfolios. You will learn how portfolios can be integrated with what is already happening in your own setting (classroom, school, district) and with different initiatives (curriculum mapping, accreditation, literacy, and so on).
Creating School-wide Rubrics Rubrics are a critical part of an assessment system; when used well, they can provide students and teachers with a consistent definition of what it means to "meet standard." Teams will develop a common language for deciding what work meets ICT literacy and content standards. There will be separate conversations for elementary and middle/high school teams. High school teams, in particular, will find this workshop useful to address the state competencies. We encourage schools to send at least a group of 3 or more participants from the same school/district, preferably including an administrator/curriculum director, a teacher, and a technology specialist / integrator. To Register: You may pre-register online at www.richerpicture.com/workshops or by downloading the registration form. A registration receipt will be emailed to you. You may print your registration receipt to mail with your check or approved purchase order form.
